A concert with Garness in trio format. Ingelin plays different guitars, Hildegunn plays her own unique standing “drum kit” and Torjus Vierli creates a world of sounds inbetween - including bass - from his keyboard corner. On the repertoire you’ll find songs from their latest record, Canyons and Mountaintops - honest songs about life’s ups and downs. Garness also loves taking songs that many in the audience have heard hundreds of times, and make something brand new and surprisingly fresh out of it. This Summer they will play their own versions of what we in Norway call “Bedehus-salmer”, well-known Spiritual hymns and psalms from the “Bedehus”-tradition. Have you heard Garness’ versions of old and dear Christmas Songs, as heard on their album Barnet i krybben, you might have an idea of the kind of creativity you can expect to encounter. This concert is a part of the opening of a brand new art exhibition on charming Galleri Straume, situated in Øyfjell in Telemark County. Main exhibitor is Galleri Manager Ruth Kvålo Dalen, and the exhibition is called “Vakker”, Norwegian for “Beautiful”. Garness will also play a few songs on the opening itself at 16:00. The concert will take place outdoors. Grab this unique opportunity to experience great art, surroundings, food and music on one spot! For more information (in Norwegian), see Galleri Straumes home page.
