Garness is finally back at Skjærgårds M&M! The popular music festival is situated on the beautiful Summer island Risøya on the southern coast of Norway, and has a long history of gathering youth fro all of Norway to a week of good music in a whole range of genres. Garness will, together with keyboardist Torjus Vierli, play you in to the Summer night in atmospheric Fjellkirka ("Mountain Church"). Garness loves taking songs that many in the audience have heard hundreds of times, and make something brand new and surprisingly fresh out of it. This Summer they will play their own versions of what we in Norway call “Bedehus-salmer”, well-known Spiritual hymns and psalms from the “Bedehus”-tradition. Have you heard Garness’ versions of old and dear Christmas Songs, as heard on their album “Barnet i krybben”, you might have an idea of the kind of creativity you can expect to encounter. You will also get songs from their latest record, Canyons and Mountaintops - honest songs about life’s ups and downs, with thoughts on self-image, delusion, faith and love.
